Learn to Play Chord on a Guitar
Learning to play chords is the last step in learning to play the guitar. The beginner will already be playing music with the instrument making this the most satisfying part of learning the guitar. Two or three strings on the guitar are stuck at the same time when playing chords.
The beginner should begin with the three most common chords when learning to play them. These are G major, C major and D major. These should be practiced first since they are the easiest.
The player should place the second finger on the sixth string of the third fret when playing the chord of G major. The first finger can then be placed on the fifth string of the second fret. Then place the third finger on the third fret of the first string. The fingers should be kept curled and not touch any other strings. Then one continuous strum can be used to strike all six strings on the guitar. They should make the sound in unison.
The third finger is put onto the third fret of the fifth string when playing the C major key. The second finger is then put on the second fret of the fourth string. The first fret of the second string is where the first finger goes. Be sure not to hit the sixth string. When the C major key is played only the bottom five strings are supposed to be used.
All three fingers are crowded into a small area on the D major key making it hard for some beginners to play. This should not be a problem once the technique is learned. The third string of the fourth fret is where the beginner can put their first finger. The third finger is then put on the second string of the third fret. Last of all the second finger is put on the first string of the second fret. The four bottom strings are the only ones strummed with the D major key.
Before beginning to learn more complicated chords these three basic chords should be easy for you to play since these chords are required to play most songs. Practicing and remembering songs with just these cords in them is a good way to begin learning. To master the chords of the guitar it is important to practice.
